PREPARE YOUR VIDEO

How to record a lift to see its plate path

A useful result starts before you upload the file. Camera position, lighting and plate visibility all affect tracking. Here is how to prepare a clear recording.

A fixed camera, a side view, good light and plates visible throughout the attempt.

Place the camera to the side

Record from the side and keep the camera still throughout the repetition. Avoid following the athlete with your phone: moving the camera also changes the visual reference. Use a stable support outside the movement area.

Leave room for the entire lift

Check the framing before you start. The plates should remain visible from the starting position to the finish, including overhead positions. Leave space around the athlete and avoid people, columns or equipment blocking the plates.

Aim for a clear image

Use good lighting and avoid strong backlighting. Play the file before uploading it: the movement and plates should be easy to distinguish. Blurred footage or a plate disappearing during the attempt can lead to insufficient tracking.

Upload one attempt and review the result

Select your video in SightPRESS, optionally add the weight and create the result. The free trial processes one attempt after email verification. Combining several attempts requires active access or enough uses.

Check before sharing

Watch the entire processed video. Check that the path follows the plate and look for jumps or occlusions. A striking trace does not guarantee correct tracking. Share the result with your coach when you need help interpreting the movement.
